DeepMind released the AI tool Dramatron, which generates a full-fledged draft of a movie or TV show script

In Brief

Based on a brief explanation of the concept, artificial intelligence has been trained to produce scripts for TV shows and films

The Dramatron AI tool, developed by Alphabet’s DeepMind AI team, can generate a complete first draft of a script for a movie, television show, or play from just one line of description. The quality of the analysis of all the work’s details ascertained by the writers who tried the Dramatron equipment astounds them.

The ChatGPT tool from the same business, which was previously released, has some similarities to the Dramatron bundle. The Dramatron algorithm creates intriguing and well-written texts, just as ChatGPT does. However, in the instance of the “artificial playwright,” the engineers took things a step further and showed him how to write in-depth descriptions of settings, people, and events. As a result, Dramatron creates a fully-formed script that only needs to be finished in minor details and rewritten in spots where evident plagiarism has occurred.

You must sign up and get two API keys in order to use Dramatron on the GitHub page: one for creating a task (API OpenAI) and the other for regulating the level of text toxicity (API Perspective). Fifteen scriptwriters participated in the tool testing. All of them eventually admitted that because the characters, circumstances, and dialogues on Dramatron were so formulaic, they would not use it for any meaningful creative work. However, such AI would be helpful even for them when it comes to building a fuller image of the universe, swiftly checking other story developments, and introducing new characters. The Dramatron can also be helpful for “creating creative ideas,” as well.

One of the test participants, in particular, staged four plays written by artificial intelligence. The text was heavily edited by the human author for this, and the actors improvised on stage, giving the viewer a sense of the AI’s work. As a result, it is clear that the instrument will find an audience. There is still the issue of authorship, but let’s leave it to the lawyers.
