Manchester City Football Club Partners With Gamee to Launch P2E Games
Animoca Brand’s famous play-to-earn mobile gaming application, Gamee, has partnered with Manchester City Football Club to bring football-inspired games to the Arc8 gaming platform and offer crypto rewards.
The first game from the partnership is Manchester City Striker – a 3D football game where players will have to score on an AI-controlled goalkeeper while simultaneously hitting targets. The game will organize tournaments and matches, allowing players to earn crypto rewards.
Manchester City is currently one of the top clubs in the Premier League, and it’s England’s highest football division with 87.6 million global supporters. The club has five Premier League titles and six FA Cups.
In December 2020, Manchester City first partnered with Animoca Brands to develop a gaming platform within the metaverse. In February this year, the club announced plans to build their home venue, the Etihad Stadium, in the metaverse.
Arc8 expects the partnership to catapult the gaming platform straight into the “arcadeverse” – a virtual gaming space that will connect gamers, brands, and game creators.
Arc8 started as a mobile app offering crypto rewards for play-and-earn gameplay, and grew into a product with a global audience of 200,000 monthly active users. The next step in the evolution of Arc8 is to become a hub for partner projects that are entering the blockchain gaming space via our platform. For now, Arc8 has 12 games on the platform, including the famous ‘Asteroids’ created in collaboration with Atari. The company plans to announce more brand partnerships and games in the upcoming weeks.
