She is presently employed with Project Mélange, which aims to comprehend, interpret, and produce speech and text data that is code-mixed. In all multilingual communities, code-mixing—the employment of many languages in a single exchange or statement—is a common occurrence. Even while code-mixing has been researched in the past as a characteristic of conversational speech, it is now frequently observed in texts due to the explosive growth of social media and other online forums. It is essential that students understand how to replicate this in speech as well, because conversational speech applications, such as personal assistants and speech-to-speech translations, rely on these skills.
