While OpenAI has announced the forthcoming launch of an Android version of the app, the precise date of its release has not been disclosed at this time.

OpenAI had not previously indicated any plans for a mobile app, but the decision aligns well with the overwhelming popularity of ChatGPT. Since its launch in November, the AI chatbot has experienced an explosive surge in usage. Estimates indicate that in January, ChatGPT garnered a record user base of around 100 million.

Until now, the most viable option for using OpenAI’s language models on mobile devices has been through the Microsoft Bing app, which grants access to their chatbot fueled by the GPT-4.
