Madonna Joins the Metaverse with a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT

Madonna is the latest celebrity to join the exclusive Bored Ape Yacht Club, thereby entering the NFT world and the metaverse.
The American singer bought a Bored Ape #4988 for 180 ETH (at the moment $562,125). According to the transaction records, the celebrity paid 105% more than the floor price. Madonna revealed on Twitter using MoonPay’s concierge services to acquire the NFT.
The pop star’s new purchase is a red Ape covered in evil eyes – an ancient symbol of protection – and wears a black tank top and a flat cap.
Justin Bieber, Paris Hilton, Neymar Jr, Stephen Curry, Post Malone, Steve Aoki, Snoop Dogg, and Jimmy Fallon are among the famous owners of the world’s most popular NFTs.
Yuga Labs, the company behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club, is expanding even further with the recent launch of ApeCoin token and a plan to create a gamified decentralized metaverse ‘Otherside.’ The blockchain company raised $450 million for its latest NFT project.
