What is Gaming Platform?
A game platform (also known as a videogame platform or videogame system) is a specific combination of electronic or computer hardware that, when combined with software, allows a videogame to function.
Understanding Gaming Platform
A platform game (commonly abbreviated as platformer and occasionally referred to as a jump ‘n’ run game) is a type of action video game in which the main goal is to move the player character between places in the environment. Platform games have levels that consist of uneven terrain and dangling platforms of variable heights that must be traversed by jumping and climbing. Other acrobatic moves, such as swinging from vines or grappling hooks, jumping off walls, air dashing, gliding through the air, being shot from cannons, or rebounding from springboards or trampolines, may be included in the gameplay. Games in which jumping is totally automatic, such as the 3D games in The Legend of Zelda series, lie outside of the category.
