Binance Academy Partners With Pakistan’s Ministry Of IT And Telecom To Expand Blockchain Education

In Brief
Binance Academy has entered into a partnership with Pakistan’s MoITT to support the development of blockchain education nationwide.

Educational arm of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, Binance Academy announced that it has entered into a partnership with Pakistan’s Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) to support the development of blockchain education nationwide. The collaboration is structured to provide specialized training and resources for academic staff, enabling them to deliver blockchain-focused instruction to students across prominent universities in Pakistan.
The initiative is set to engage 20 universities, reaching approximately 300 educators and an estimated 80,000 students by the year 2026. The program is intended to cultivate a skilled talent pool capable of contributing to technological innovation within both national and international blockchain ecosystems.
“As blockchain reshapes the global financial landscape, empowering people with the right skills is essential to unlocking its potential,” said Bader Al Kalooti, MEASA Head of Growth and Operations at Binance, in a written statement. “Our collaboration with the Ministry of IT and Telecom in Pakistan marks a significant step toward building a knowledgeable workforce ready to drive innovation and foster growth in the digital economy. Together, we are laying the foundation for a future where blockchain technology creates opportunities across every sector,” he added.
This collaboration extends the efforts initiated by the Global University Outreach Program (GUOP), recognized as one of the most extensive Web3 educational initiatives globally. GUOP was originally established through a coordinated effort between Binance Academy and the Blockchain & AI Technology Center (BAITC).
The current phase of the initiative aims to embed blockchain-related content within university-level academic programs on a global scale. It emphasizes the development of skilled professionals through accessible educational frameworks, strategic cooperation with industry stakeholders, and the provision of certification pathways designed to support workforce readiness in emerging technologies.
This nationwide educational effort is intended to support the development of a workforce equipped with blockchain expertise, contributing to the broader integration of emerging technologies within Pakistan’s digital landscape.
“In line with the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for a digitally empowered Pakistan, this partnership marks an important milestone in the country’s digital transformation. It contributes to economic growth and positions Pakistan as a global source of skilled blockchain talent,” said Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the Minister of IT and Telecom, in a written statement. “By joining forces with the world’s leading crypto exchange, Binance, along with the Blockchain & AI Technology Center, we are equipping our students with cutting-edge knowledge, preparing them to shape the future of the digital economy and strengthen Pakistan’s presence in the global tech landscape,” she added.
Binance Promotes Responsible And Future-Oriented Framework For Blockchain Integration
This collaboration with Pakistan’s Ministry of IT and Telecom reflects Binance’s ongoing effort to work alongside national authorities in promoting a responsible and forward-looking framework for blockchain integration. The initiative focuses on aligning with local regulatory expectations while fostering educational opportunities that help build a skilled talent base prepared to contribute to a digitally resilient economy.
Since 2022, Binance Academy has provided practical Web3 training to more than 3,000 students from 13 universities across three provinces in Pakistan. Launched with an initial pilot in Kazakhstan in 2023, the Global University Outreach Program has since scaled to 20 countries. With plans to reach over 200 universities in more than 50 countries, the initiative seeks to equip over one million students with blockchain knowledge by 2026, supporting the development of a globally connected workforce in emerging technologies.
