Soundhound Transforms Car Manuals into Interactive AI Voice Assistants

Soundhound Transforms Car Manuals into Interactive AI Voice Assistants

Car owners no longer need to peruse lengthy manuals; they can now voice their questions and receive answers from the integrated multimedia system. This new feature is part of the recently unveiled SoundHound AI Chat for Automotive platform, currently undergoing testing by several automakers. Car owners can expect precise responses tailored to their specific models.

This new domain enables drivers to interact with their car manuals using natural speech, providing instant, hands-free access to comprehensive information about the functionality, maintenance, or repair of their vehicle.

The technology, announced on October 12, 2023, improves driver safety by allowing conversational language questions about vehicle features, enabling immediate verbal responses and handling basic functionality queries.

SoundHound’s Vehicle Intelligence domain, part of its over 100 information domains, uses generative AI and real-time vehicle data to provide accurate, reliable responses, enhancing the driving experience and making vehicle manuals more accessible, benefiting car manufacturers in making complex manuals user-friendly in the digital age. The Vehicle Intelligence assistant utilizes multiple language models, including GPT, along with real-time data from the car itself.

SoundHound’s COO, Mike Zagorsek, highlights the transformative impact of Vehicle Intelligence technology, which simplifies searching through text-based manuals. The first release makes vehicle manuals accessible via voice queries, with upcoming features allowing real-time updates and proactive maintenance information.

In a demo, the assistant was asked questions about various aspects, such as interpreting dashboard icons, opening the trunk, estimating the remaining driving range based on fuel levels, and even inquiring about car repairs.

  • SoundHound, a company specializing in arbitration technology, is collaborating with 20 global vehicle brands to ensure accurate AI-generated responses in the automotive industry.
