The Latin American division of Samsung has launched its own virtual space in the Decentraland metaverse called “House of SAM.” It’s Samsung’s digital expert and host of the SmartThings experience in the metaverse.
The House of SAM is a space where users can have virtual contact with Samsung products, such as the Freestyle portable projector. In addition, mini-games are also available and unlock awards in the form of wearables for avatars in Decentraland.
The company launched the House of SAM inside Decentraland’s metaverse on October 1. The opening event hosted an exclusive virtual show from the Brazilian group Melim.
“Our customers will be able to interact with each other and participate in exclusive shows, courses, and events that we will offer for free at Decentraland, one of the most democratic and open spaces in the metaverse,”
said Arthur Wong, marketing director for Samsung LATAM.
Wong also mentioned that the company aims to get closer to Samsung’s younger consumers “who no longer draw boundaries between what is physical and what is virtual.”
Headquartered in South Korea, Samsung is an innovative tech company that joined the Web3 scene a while ago. The company aims to promote the brand and attract a new audience with the House of SAM metaverse.
This is not Samsung’s first foray into the metaverse. In August, the company launched Smart City Island in the popular battle royale game Fortnite. In July, Samsung opened a new metaverse experience called Space Tycoon on Roblox.
Samsung has created Bitcoin and other crypto wallets for its clients, allowing them to purchase NFTs using Samsung’s Smart TVs. In January, the company opened an official Samsung store in Decentraland to enable users to buy products with digital assets inside the virtual world.
As for other Web3 partnerships, Samsung partnered with Theta Labs in August to release an NFT campaign featuring 100,000 utility NFTs for Samsung customers.
