MetaMask and Asset Reality partner to help scam victims
MetaMask, one of the largest self-custody wallets, will partner with Asset Reality to help users recover stolen digital assets.
Asset Reality is a London-based company that focuses on investigation, recovery, and management of crypto assets. It already collaborates with digital custodians, blockchain analytic companies, and governments.
How will Asset Reality help MetaMask users? The company plans to investigate scam operations. The professionalism of Asset Reality’s employees increases the possibility of recovering stolen funds and bringing the guilty actors to justice.
Scam support will be available for MetaMask users internationally. Victims of crypto scams will have an opportunity to recover their assets in the smallest amount of time possible.
This service will be free. Victims will only have to pay in case legal action is needed.
Scammers often steal from groups of people in the NFT space. Victims of large scams will have an opportunity to pursue collective actions as a group, which would increase the likelihood of recovering digital assets.
“When a user has funds stolen, often due to being scammed into handing over their passwords or Secret Recovery Phrase, they often have nowhere to turn to, in what is an incredibly difficult time for them emotionally and financially. We see losses across the entire crypto eco-system ranging from hundreds to millions of dollars in value. We’re proud to be partnering with ConsenSys and MetaMask to deliver this important service which will ultimately improve users’ experience in dealing with these situations,” said Aidan Larkin, Co-Founder and CEO of Asset Reality.
MetaMask often shares information and advice on how to avoid scams and rug-pulls. You can consult them on the blog or on their official Twitter but please be very careful when approaching anyone online claiming to be Metamask support.
