In Brief
Christie’s, the renowned auction house, and Gucci, the iconic fashion brand, have partnered to present an exclusive digital art auction titled “Future Frequencies: Explorations in Generative Art and Fashion.
The collection comprises 21 NFTs created by prominent artists such as Claire Silver, Emily Xie, Botto, Emi Kusano, William Mapan, Zach Lieberman, Helena Sarin, and DRAUP.
Historic auction house Christie’s has joined forces with Gucci to explore generative art and fashion. “Future Frequencies: Explorations in Generative Art and Fashion” is an exclusive digital art auction by the two renowned names. The collection showcases 21 NFTs that explore generative systems and artificial intelligence. Moreover, the exhibit is influenced by Gucci’s distinctive style, featuring its Bamboo 1947 handbags with the iconic bamboo handle and its fabrics and colors.
The artworks are created by AI artist Claire Silver, generative artist Emily Xie, decentralized autonomous artist Botto and other prominent artists, such as Emi Kusano, William Mapan, Zach Lieberman, Helena Sarin, and DRAUP. NFTs by these artists combine fashion, art, and technology to create visual experiences that challenge the boundaries of creativity.
“With a focus on the interplay between autonomous systems and fashion, these digital artists create a fusion of disparate ecosystems by overlaying the industrial field of garment design and production onto the worlds of generative art and AI, which employ algorithms, modeling, and data to simulate human-like intelligence and artistic output,”
the auction’s description reads.
The price of the NFTs in the Christie’s and Gucci collection is estimated to vary from 1 ETH to 320 ETH, depending on each artwork. Art fans can bid on the rare NFTs from July 18 to July 25. “Future Frequencies: Explorations in Generative Art and Fashion” is open for browsing now on Christie’s 3.0, the auction house’s dedicated platform for digital art.
In addition, the artworks will be showcased on Gucci Art Space, the fashion brand’s virtual gallery. “Future Frequencies: Explorations in Generative Art and Fashion” coincide with Christie’s seventh Art + Tech Summit, scheduled this summer in New York.
Since March 2021, when Christie’s sold the legendary NFT by Beeple, “Everydays,” for a record $69 million, the auction has been deeply involved in the web3 space.
