Bored Ape ‘Otherside’ Metaverse Drops Next Week, ApeCoin Soars to Record High

The company behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club, Yuga Labs, announced the launch date of the ‘Otherside’ metaverse. The anticipated virtual world of Bored Apes, co-created with the gaming Animoca Brands, is launching on April 30, 12 PM ET. Last month, the project released a teaser featuring famous NFTs meeting each other in the metaverse.
The 3D play-to-earn metaverse game won’t be exclusive to Apes – World of Women, CryptoPunks, Cool Cats, Meebits, and other NFTs will also be welcomed into the space and will be used as personal avatars.
ApeCoin, already released on March 17, will be the official token of ‘Otherside.’ It was created as a governance, utility token for Web3 economy in the Bored Ape Yacht Club universe. The hype of the metaverse project caused the increase in the token’s price. In the last 24 hours, ApeCoin reached its record price – $17.84. It’s a 53% increase in the past seven days.
Virtual land is one of the items that can be purchased with ApeCoin, and holders of the token are part of the ApeCoin DAO. Owners of Bored Apes and Mutant Apes receive the tokens by default.
