Scroll Launches on Mainnet, Expands Ethereum Scaling Solutions

Scroll today officially introduced its Mainnet. The achievement comes after an extensive 15-month journey featuring multiple testnets, rigorous security audits, and a commitment to open-source collaboration. According to the team, Scroll’s strong focus on research resulted advancements in prover efficiency and the development of zkEVM, a scaling solution akin to Ethereum but with lower costs and faster speeds.

Founded in 2021 with a mission to enhance Ethereum scalability, the company actively collaborates with the open-source community. With a strong emphasis on developer experience, Scroll aims to offer an EVM-compatible solution, enabling transition for existing applications and developer tooling from Ethereum to Scroll.

Furthermore, Scroll says its top priority is security, with internal and external audits ensuring the integrity of the project. A robust bug bounty program on the Immunefi platform further enhances security. The project’s progression was supported by a series of successful testnets, providing valuable insights and refining the platform for its Mainnet release.

Scroll’s global initiatives encourage developers worldwide to experiment with their platform. With the Mainnet now live, Scroll extends an invitation to the community to participate in this ongoing journey of development and innovation.

Scroll’s Mission to Enhance Crypto Operations

Scroll has attracted substantial investment, securing $30 million from backers like Polychain Capital, Bain Capital Crypto, and Geometry DAO, along with support from Ethereum community figures. Aave v3, a prominent DeFi platform, is considering deploying its v3 Minimum Viable Product on the Scroll mainnet, potentially creating a strategic alliance between the two.

Scroll’s unique selling point lies in its role as an extension of Ethereum, offering native compatibility with Ethereum’s tools and applications. By leveraging zero-knowledge technology and achieving EVM equivalence, it serves as a second-layer (L2) blockchain designed by Ethereum developers to scale Ethereum while preserving its core principles.

As Scroll enhances Ethereum’s scalability, the industry looks forward to its impact on decentralized applications and transactions, maintaining a steadfast commitment to Ethereum’s future.
