NFT collective Proof is launching a new NFT collection featuring 10,000 pieces of digital art created by 22 artists, including Beeple.
Titled Moonbirds: Diamond Exhibition, the new collection is set to drop on Apr 27. To celebrate the occasion, Proof will host Beeple’s LIVE Everyday party at NFT NYC for Moonbirds holders, followed by a physical exhibition of the collection’s artwork later this month. The NFTs are available only to Moonbirds holders who have reached “Diamond Nest” status by staking their NFTs.
Moonbirds made headlines for generating $280 million in transaction volume less than three days after its launch last year. The project has a nesting mechanic, which allows users to stake their NFTs to receive perks and rewards based on their nesting status. Those who’ve reached the Diamond Nest status are holders who have staked their NFTs since the day the nesting program was launched.
On April 18, Moonbirds will airdrop Diamond Nesters a “choice pass,” which will allow them to rank their favorite artists among the 22 who have worked on the collection. Proof will conduct a raffle using the rankings generated over a four-day voting period to distribute art pieces via airdrop to all Day 1 Diamond Nest Moonbirds holders who participated in the vote.
The Diamond Nesters who staked their Moonbirds NFTs within the first and subsequent weeks after the nesting program’s launch will also go through a similar voting and airdrop process until all 10,000 NFTs have been distributed.
This initiative comes as Proof seeks to keep the Moonbirds community interested. In February, Proof canceled its NFT conference due to low interest but assured holders that there will be multiple smaller events held throughout the year.
In January, Proof signed with United Talent Agency (UTA) to extend the Moonbirds brand beyond web3 and turn it into a global brand. The company launched its Grails III NFT collection later that month with 20 artists, including Matt Kane, Josie Bellini, Grails artist Linda Douria, and All Seeing Seneca, who was the original artist of Bored Ape Yacht Club.
Last August, Proof moved the Moonbirds-affiliated Oddities collection to the CC0 (Creative Commons Zero) public license.
