The Trust Project is a worldwide group of news organizations working to establish transparency standards.
Leading Metaverse companies partner to launch OMA3, a new Metaverse decentralized autonomous organization. The goal is to create a community-run Metaverse based on the ideas of decentralization and indexability.
Open Metaverse Alliance for Web3 will focus on building a user-owned Metaverse where individuals have the right to own their assets, identity, and personal data. More than that, the new consortium aims to secure the interoperability of digital assets (NFTs), virtual lands, and services between different platforms.
Twelve leading Web3 brands have already joined OMA3. Among the participants are Alien Worlds, Animoca Brands, Decentraland, Dapper Labs, and The Sandbox.
However, the organization is open to all Web3 Metaverse builders. Individuals and companies can join the community by filling in the form on the website.
“At Animoca Brands, our mission is to deliver digital property rights to the world’s gamers and Internet users and a more equitable digital framework contributing to the building of the open Metaverse. Creating interoperability standards is a necessary step in the evolution of this industry, and we’re very pleased to support grassroots efforts from the Web3 community like OMA3,” says Animoca Brands CEO Robby Yung.
In June this year, tech giants Microsoft, Meta, Sony, Huawei, and others established “The Metaverse Standards Forum.” The organization is reserved for industry leaders and focuses on action-based projects and open-source tooling to accelerate the adoption of the Metaverse standards.
