ChatGPT
What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a tool or an application that was created by OpenAI, based on what question you ask it, it can use the GPT language models to answer your questions, create text, generate emails, have a conversation, explain different events, translate natural language to code, and other various things. So, basically it’s a normal chatbot but very intelligent one.
Understanding of ChatGPT
Using a unique neural-network design known as transformer networks, LLMs like ChatGPT and GPT-4 are particularly adept at learning from lengthy sequences like text, audio and pictures. By using “next token prediction,” LLMs are taught by providing them with a large amount of text that has been collected from many websites, including GitHub, Wikipedia and social media.
The model attempts to predict the subsequent word with the given text segment (for example, the first sentence of a Wikipedia page). After that, it compares its output to the training corpus’s real text and modifies its settings to fix any errors. Through repeated application across an extensive corpus of text, the transformer builds a model of language that can be used as a normal texts.
There’s also an extra training phase known as “reinforcement learning from human feedback” and this is exactly what sets ChatGPT apart. The LLM’s output is rated by human reviewers and annotators who also create prompts. After then, the model adjusts its parameters to produce results that are rated higher. This makes ChatGPT more in line with the intentions of the user. The reason ChatGPT has been so much more helpful than its predecessors is because of RLHF.
Latest news about ChatGPT
- Elon Musk’s AI venture, xAI, has introduced Grok, a generative AI model inspired by “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.” The model aims to bring humor and tackle daring questions, offering real-time access to information via the X platform. Grok is designed to provide users with up-to-the-minute information on various topics and is expected to be a valuable research assistant. The AI model, which is still in beta, has achieved impressive results in HumanEval coding and MMLU tasks.
- Australian education ministers have adopted a national AI framework, allowing the use of AI systems, including ChatGPT, in all schools starting in 2024. The framework aims to address privacy concerns and potential replacement of traditional learning methods. Despite initial restrictions, the ministers have committed to working with their respective education systems to implement the framework in the first term of the upcoming year. The adoption also includes a $1 million investment in Education Services Australia, a nonprofit educational technology company, to work on defining product expectations for generative AI technology.
- OpenAI’s ChatGPT is set to undergo a significant transformation with the addition of voice capabilities. This update will enhance the user experience by allowing for more natural and interactive conversations with the AI. ChatGPT’s functionality has improved beyond text-based communications, allowing users to have spoken interactions with the AI. The multilingual support of ChatGPT, including Russian, Hebrew, and Chinese, is a striking aspect of the update. Users claim that conversations with ChatGPT now feel remarkably realistic, with the AI demonstrating a better grasp of both language and context. The audio feature is currently only available within the ChatGPT mobile application.
