The Web3 gaming company, Gala Games, continues to lead the NFT gaming trend. The blockchain gaming pioneer will debut on the Epic Games Store with the Wild West-themed royale battle game Grit, expected to be released later this year.
Grit will be free to play, and users will be able to buy, sell, and use in-game NFTs. The ride-or-die game’s generative characters (gunslingers) will be ERC-721 NFTs and will be able to “earn rewards as they shoot up a storm and dominate the frontier.” Each character will be unique and may collect items (digital collectibles) to use in the game.
Gala Games will introduce blockchain technology and the new era of entertainment to the Epic Games Store’s 194 million players.
“Easy access to Web3 games is a turning point for those players who have not yet seen how digital ownership can enrich the gaming experience,” said John Osvald, President of Games at Gala Games.
The Galaverse event started today in Malta and takes place until June 9. To celebrate the game convention, Gala Games will offer a special sale of “The Gunslinger Box,” which will unlock 10,000 Grit avatars.
The news comes after Gala introduced the first-ever Web3 first-person-shooter (FPS) Last Expedition, the launch of the decentralized Gala Music platform, and the world’s first NFT esport, Spider Tanks.
The current price of the Gala token is still relatively low – $0.078. The token holders expected an increase after the Galaverse began, but due to the bear market, the cryptocurrency is still down.
