Cool Cats, one of the most active NFT communities, will join The Sandbox by the end of 2022. In the last few months, the Cool Cats team has been sharing 3D and pixelated items before revealing the news yesterday.

The news was announced through a tweet, which shows a picture of how the cats will look in the Metaverse. Many followers mocked the human-like appearance of the reshaped NFTs, yet most users in the comments were complaining about the recent crypto crash.

The Sandbox is a gaming-focused Metaverse that is rapidly growing and collaborating with NFT collections and celebrities active in Web3. (Read more about The Sandbox here.)

Last week, Mastercard announced a partnership with The Sandbox, meaning Mastercard will bring its payment methods to the Metaverse. The SAND token is currently at rock bottom, priced at $0.8319, a 40% fall in the last seven days.

Cool Cats, a collection of 9,999 PFPs, launched in July 2021. The NFTs are owned by famous figures like Mike Tyson, Reese Witherspoon, Alex Ohanian, and Steve Aoki, who escalated the value of Cool Cats. In April, the founders announced the launch of the Cooltopia hub, a gamified NFT experience that grants Cool Cats and Cool Pets holders access to events, collaborations, games, tokens, and more.

The current floor price of Cool Cats NFTs is 2.85 ETH, with a total trade volume of over 108,100 ETH. Some Cool Cats have rarer physical traits and thus are more expensive. Due to the significant plunge in the crypto market, the Cool Cats NFT floor price dropped 23.39% in the past 24 hours

Cool Cats entering The Sandbox means the NFTs will possibly gain higher value, and holders will benefit from extra utilities, including the entrance into one of the most popular Metaverses to date.
