Microsoft Simplifies Online Shopping with AI Tools for Bing and Edge

In Brief

Microsoft’s AI-powered shopping tools in Bing and Edge aim to simplify online shopping and help users save money.

With the integration of AI technology, Microsoft aims to streamline the entire shopping process, from product discovery to purchase completion, fostering confidence and convenience for users.

Microsoft has introduced new AI-based shopping tools for Bing and Edge to enhance the shopping experience and boost user confidence. These tools simplify product discovery, research, and purchases by providing consolidated information from expert sources. By harnessing AI, Microsoft offers a comprehensive platform that streamlines shopping and aims to empower users.

With one of the tools, Buying Guides, users can receive tailored recommendations and detailed specifications for various product categories. The AI-powered guides provide product suggestions and enable easy comparison of similar items within a smart compare table. The guides are available on Bing.com, in the Edge sidebar, and in Bing Chat

Other tools provide summarized reviews and insights to assist users in making informed decisions. By using Bing Chat on the Edge sidebar, shoppers can receive recommendations on what aspects to consider when purchasing specific products and obtain brief summaries of online reviews, along with top insights and popular opinions.

The Price Match feature continues working after a purchase, monitoring prices and allowing users to request a match if the price drops. Microsoft has partnered with top US retailers for price matching and plans to expand.

Built-in features like Price Comparison, Price History, Coupons, Cashback, and Package Tracking streamline the shopping experience. While Price Match is on its way to launch in the US, various other features are currently accessible through Edge.

Microsoft’s market capitalization reached an all-time high of $2.59 trillion a few weeks ago. In May, the tech giant announced over 50 AI-related updates, including partnerships with various companies such as Adobe, Thomson Reuters, Atlassian, ServiceNow, Moveworks, and Mural.
