Base RPC nodes gain traction on GetBlock
In Brief
Base RPC endpoints on GetBlock became its fastest-growing APIs in Q1 2024. Base is the first new-gen L2 to explode into Top-10 of GetBlock nodes by usage. Also, GetBlock added opBNB and Blast RPC nodes this month
GetBlock, a premier provider of Web3 infrastructure for over 50 blockchains, has shared the results of its periodic performance analysis. Amidst overall usage growth, Base has become the first new-generation L2 rollup in our top 10 networks by the number of endpoints created.
The popularity of Base RPC nodes began its sharp increase in March 2024. This uptick has been fully confirmed by third-party analysts.
Specifically, Base is the third-largest L2 blockchain by total value locked (TVL) on L2Beat, with $5.8 billion injected into its dApps so far. On DappRadar, Base ranks as the second-largest L2 blockchain by the “DeFi TVL” metric, only surpassed by Arbitrum.
On GetBlock, Base is twice as popular as Arbitrum; its users have created four times more endpoints compared to those on Optimism.
Commenting on this trend, GetBlock CEO Arseniy Voitenko highlighted the importance of Base as a component of GetBlock’s offerings:
“Summer gains are made with winter developments. As the first mainstream Web3 infrastructure provider to add Base support in Q4 2023, we are excited to see its RPC endpoints receiving significant attention. The surging interest in next-generation L2s aligns perfectly with a market maturing toward more cost-efficient and high-performance dApps. Additionally, the Base success story showcases the opportunities that are unlocked by the OP Stack as an open-source framework.”
ConsenSys’ rollup, Linea, is another new-generation L2 network that has surged into the top rankings at GetBlock.
OP Stack in focus in Q2 2024: Blast, opBNB APIs added by GetBlock
GetBlock is placing significant bets on L2 blockchains developed atop the OP Stack, a trending open-source framework for high-performance scaling solutions.
Starting in April 2024, GetBlock will connect its users to Blast RPC endpoints and nodes of the opBNB blockchain, the fastest-growing L2 on Ethereum and the first Binance-backed scaling network.
Both Blast and opBNB RPCs are available in free and paid packages via a subscription model. Paid tariffs start at $29 on GetBlock.
With all the announcements in early Q2 2024, GetBlock is evolving into a premium provider of RPC nodes for the powerful L2 networks on the OP Stack.
