In collaboration with AR platform Jadu and NFT company Sweet, Sir Elton John announced the release of a unique Rocket Man Jadu Hoverboard NFT. In addition to the hoverboard NFT, John will also drop a series of Access Tokens that will grant his fans access to the Rocket NFT Club, the musician’s Web3 community.

The NFT marks John’s entrance into Web3 and it will be on auction from Monday at 7 a.m. through Wednesday at 3 p.m PT. All proceeds from sales will go to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

The Rocket Man hoverboard is a part of Jadu’s Hoverboard collection, which consists of 6,666 NFTs. The digital collectible was designed by Voxel Bunny, who paid tribute to John by including his star glasses, piano keys, and music notes from his all-time hit “Rocket Man” to the NFT.

“Web3 has the potential to bring people from across the world together like never before and I’m excited for the opportunities to connect with my fans in a vibrant and growing community,” the English music legend said.

Jadu is an AR platform and a community-built game world with the ambition of having top-notch Web3 avatars. The company makes virtual items such as jetpacks and hoverboards that can be purchased as NFTs and later used in Jadu’s Metaverse platform, Mirrorverse. Jadu has previously collaborated with F1 champion Lewis Hamilton, musician GRIMES, and hip-hop rapper Snoop Dogg.

“Our team pours its heart into crafting virtual items that are expressive without constraint and allow collectors to develop a new relationship with their physical surroundings,” Jadu CEO Asad J. Malik said.

In May, Jadu raised $36 million to develop an AR mobile gaming platform that will allow gamers to connect their Ethereum wallets and turn their 3D NFTs into playable avatars. The beta version is set to launch this summer.
