DeGods Season Ill Revealed; Floor Price Goes Up By 4%
In Brief
DeGods Season Ill was revealed.
The new tokens feature simple rendering, innovative traits, cleaner lifework, a dark color palette, and minimalist shading.
The collection will soon start featuring Female DeGods, and holders will be able to swap male to female versions.
On August 13, DeGods Season Ill was revealed.
The collection includes 20,000 new pieces of art, with four pieces of generative art for one DeGod NFT. The Season Ill tokens feature simple rendering, innovative traits, cleaner lifework, a dark color palette, and minimalist shading. The collection’s creators shared that they “tried many different versions to make sure they were making the best possible DeGod on planet Earth.”
First, the collection was “downgraded” by design. The developers reduced the number of colors in their artworks, downgrading most of them from twelve to six. By reducing the colors by 50%, they made the NFTs more readable and, according to the creators themselves, “more compelling.” The shadows and highlight tones were also removed from most of the artworks.
“In comparison to the deluge of imagery you’re seeing on your timeline, Season Ill Gods take the least amount of energy to process. Which means that your brain likes this. This means that there is a higher chance for people to engage with your profile,” wrote the company, explaining why they decided to reduce the number of colors.
Then, the collection will soon start featuring Female DeGods. Every trait has been mapped to the female base, and holders will be able to swap male to female versions. Some of the traits are identical, while others are a bit different. The release of this feature was postponed as the company received a lot of feedback and decided to re-approach the project.
In addition, in Season Ill, DeGods founders eliminated the traits the community did not like.
The community is mostly happy about the release. Numerous holders have already started downgrading their DeGods NFTs by design. At the same time, several X users shared that the release feels like a troll: “Ngl this still feels like a troll. The details and shading are what made deadgods so epic,” posted an X user called TeeJJay.
The release affected prices and volumes positively. In the last 24 hours, the volume rose by 20%, reaching 1,612 ETH. The floor price of DeGods is currently 6.968 ETH (approximately $12,780 at the moment of writing), 4% higher than in the last 24 hours.
