The experiment, conducted by experts at Clarify Capital, involved 250 investors and 250 business owners. The researchers compared pitch decks generated by ChatGPT with real-world pitch decks created by individuals who had already secured funding. The participants were unaware that some of the pitch decks were generated by AI. Each respondent reviewed an equal number of pitch decks created by both AI and humans.
The key findings from the experiment were as follows:
- ChatGPT-generated pitch decks were found to be twice as convincing as those created by humans.
- Investors and business owners were three times more likely to consider investing after reviewing pitch decks generated by ChatGPT compared to those created by individuals.
- One in five investors and business owners who reviewed ChatGPT pitch decks expressed a willingness to invest $10,000 or more.
These findings build upon the growing body of evidence that demonstrates AI’s increasing influence and trustworthiness in various domains, including politics and medicine. It appears that AI’s persuasive abilities extend to the realm of investment, where its pitch decks have proven highly effective in capturing the attention and confidence of potential investors.
AI continues to demonstrate its capabilities in winning trust and making compelling arguments, it serves as a reminder of the transformative power this technology holds.
As we witness AI’s ability to outperform humans in various persuasive tasks, it is becoming increasingly evident that we are entering an era where AI plays a pivotal role in shaping our decisions and interactions.
Some fear that AI will replace humans, but this study of GPT-generated pitch decks shows that access to AI tools can actually help humans accomplish more. Entrepreneurs who use AI technologies to assist in the creation of pitch decks, business plans, organizational structures, and the like can increase their chances of securing funding.
As more entrepreneurs enter the professional space with the tools they need to succeed, every industry will benefit from increased diversity, creativity, and innovation. Instead of fighting and competing with AI, professional industries can embrace and use it to achieve greater results.
