The Graph Will Be Migrated to Arbitrum at the End of the Year

In Brief

The Graph, an indexing and query protocol for blockchain data, is transitioning to Arbitrum, a layer2 scaling solution. The initiative is aimed at delivering reduced gas fees, enhanced transaction processing speed, and improved accessibility.

Blockchain data indexing and query protocol, The Graph, has initiated the final phase of its migration process to Arbitrum, a layer-2 scaling solution that operates on Ethereum. The transition targets the reduction of gas fees, acceleration of transaction processing speed, and enhancement of the protocol’s accessibility.

The Graph will be migrated to Arbitrum at the end of the year

The decision to transition to Arbitrum was driven by a vote through a Graph Improvement Proposal. The community members’ collective preference for a more efficient and cost-effective network experience guided the voting result.

The transition journey, which began in 2022, was divided into stages. The first phase entailed the initial deployment, followed by the activation of protocol rewards on layer-2. Also, the current day marks the beginning of the third and final phase, symbolizing full integration with the Arbitrum network.

Tegan Kline, CEO of Edge & Node, a company involved in developing The Graph protocol, stated that choosing Arbitrum was the result of careful assessment. Arbitrum, functioning as a layer-2 scaling solution, will provide quicker and more cost-efficient operations to protocol developers and network participants.

The Graph and Arbitrum

The Graph plans to enable users across all its product range to switch to Arbitrum. The protocol rewards will gradually shift from Ethereum and will ultimately operate fully on Arbitrum.

Experts anticipate that the transition will significantly decrease the associated gas fees. So, The Graph and Arbitrum will co-host a celebration at the House of web3 in San Francisco to commemorate this milestone.

  • The blockchain industry is seeing an exciting wave of innovation with protocols like Arbitrum (ARB), Uwerx, and Polygon emerging as powerful contenders.
