TAG Heuer’s smartwatches can now display NFTs

TAG Heuer introduced watches that display NFTs

Swiss brand TAG Heuer introduced a smartwatch that displays users’ NFTs.

Yesterday TAG Heuer issued a new “Connected Calibre E4 ” smartwatch. The model will let owners display NFTs on the watch’s screen. Users will need to select “Lens watch face” on the TAG Heuer app, connect the wallet, and complete the sign-in process. Then, owners can choose an NFT for display. The artwork will show up as an animation in a hexagon pattern.

The watches currently support Metamask and Ledger wallets.

Users can display personal photos or images as well. TAG Heuer will provide a curated selection of the latter.

“Not launching our own NFT collection but allowing collectors to use their NFTs in a new way was the most obvious first step. We speak to all passionate collectors,” said the CEO of Tag Heuer Frédéric Arnault. He recently purchased a BAYC himself.

TAG Heuer stepped in Web3 some time ago as well. In May, the brand started accepting cryptocurrencies as a form of payment on its U.S. website. Individuals can choose from 13 cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Litecoin.

The company is part of the LVMH corporation and conglomerate, which is not new to NFTs. For instance, Bernard Arnault’s son and now also Tiffany’s executive vice president Alexandre Arnault showed off a set of CryptoPunk earrings in April this year.
