South Korean exchange UPbit becomes the sponsor of SSC Napoli

In Brief

UPbit becomes the Back-of-Shirt Partner and Global Crypto-Exchange Partner of SSC Napoli

The football club aims to build a solid fan base in South Korea

South Korean exchange UPbit becomes the sponsor of SSC Napoli

Italian professional football club SSC Napoli partners with Seoul-based fintech company Dinamu Inc. Dinamu is the operator of the cryptocurrency exchange UPbit, which was launched in October 2017 and is one of the most used South Korean exchanges today.

UPbit becomes Napoli’s new Back-of-Shirt Partner and Global Crypto-Exchange Partner. The partnership is valid for all of Napoli’s 2022/23 and 2023/24 games, including Serie A, Coppa Italia, and friendly matches.

The football club aims to enlarge its presence and create a solid fan base in South Korea. Notably, there is one South Korean player on Napoli’s team. Kim Min-jae, born in Tongyeong, has been playing in a center-back position in the FC since 2022. There is no doubt that South Korean fans pay attention to Napoli’s games—and, starting today, to Upbit logos on the shirts as well.

The football club’s players will first wear the updated Upbit shirts during the match against Milanese FC Inter. The game will happen at the San Siro stadium in Milan on January 4 at 8:45 CET.

“We’re thrilled to have reached this agreement with the South Korean company Dunamu, a leader in its sector and a growing company in the Asian market. This partnership enshrines the union of two game-changers in their respective sectors, underlining the objective of a future vision where innovation and technology are at the heart of the project. This agreement once again confirms that the club has an eye on international markets and on the most advanced technologies, in a process of continuous improvement of our brand globally,”

said the Chief International Development Officer of SSC Napoli, Tommaso Bianchini.

Numerous football clubs have partnered with cryptocurrency exchanges in the last few years. However, the ongoing crypto winter made several exchange platforms terminate sponsorships. For instance, in December, one of the leading Asian cryptocurrency exchanges, Amber Group, ceased its partnership with English FC Chelsea.
