Friend.tech User’s Private Key Leaked, Source Remains Unknown
In Brief
Someone leaked the private key of a Friend.tech user, and the source of the leak hasn’t been discovered yet.
The security of digital assets has once again come under scrutiny as a prominent Twitter and Friend.tech user recently revealed the leakage of their private key.
Despite ongoing investigations, the exact source of the leak remains undetermined. However, emerging evidence points to potential involvement with third-party bots on Telegram, as multiple users report similar breaches.
Emerging Analysis Connects Leaks to Telegram Bot
Yu Xian, the founder of SlowMist, shed light on the situation by tweeting their findings after extensive network analyses on Base, Ethereum, and BNB Chain.
According to Xian, the private key leak of a Friend.tech user, Pangchy, possibly ties back to Telegram interactions, specifically with third-party bots.
情况基本搞清楚了,我的情况和这个老哥相同,刚开始玩FT的时候连过这个三方bot @FriendSniperTch,虽然很快就换成自己bot了,但是私钥泄露,现在钱多了被清。

Various users have come forward, sharing their experiences with suspicious third-party bots, primarily FriendSniperTch. One user detailed his unfortunate encounter, stating that even after swiftly transitioning from FriendSniperTch to a personal bot, the damage was done – their private key had already been compromised.

The user regretfully admitted their oversight in not promptly securing their digital assets, especially after noticing another user, @CJCJCJCJ_, fall victim to a similar breach days earlier.
Further driving home the gravity of the situation, “Friend.tech” expressed deep remorse for the inadvertent compromise of trust from their followers, urging everyone to prioritize safety. They stressed the importance of promptly disconnecting from dubious third-party software and taking immediate measures to secure their accounts.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the risks associated with third-party platforms and software in the crypto domain.
