Burberry announces the release of a new NFT character
Fashion brand Burberry announced the release of a new NFT character. It makes part of the B Series, Burberry’s monthly drop of physical and digital items. This time the company went for a digital format, collaborating with Mythical Games.
The new character’s name is Minny B. It is a mystical unicorn covered in Burberry’s TB Summer monogram print. Minny B is accompanied by a set of digital accessories. These include lucky horseshoe necklaces, sliders, boomboxes, and a mobile phone in a form of a seashell “Shellphone.”
Players can use the NFT to connect in a virtual space called “The Oasis,” part of Burberry’s multiplayer video game “Blankos Block Party.” The company first launched it in July last year.
“The Metaverse provides limitless opportunities for us to flex our imagination and connect with our customers. Luxury is an industry built on fantasy and expression, so in many ways, gaming is a canvas perfectly suited to bringing these dreams to life,” said Rachel Waller, Burberry’s VP of Channel Innovation.
Burberry x Blankos Block Party collection will be available for purchase starting from June 22, at 9 AM PST. Individuals can sign up for the NFT drop on the brand’s website.
