World Poker Tour partners with Theta Labs to launch NFT Season passes

The tokens are released on Theta blockchain using the Digital Collectables DRM technology, which permits media companies and creators to license their content by linking it to NFTs on Theta blockchain. It’s worth noting that the WTP passes will become the first-ever digital Season passes for a TV show.

The NFTs grant holders access to twelve months of exclusive content of the World Poker Tour. Additionally, poker fans will have access to Season 18 videos, which are not featured anywhere else.

“We are proud to partner with Theta to offer users an exclusive way to access WPT seasons 18 and 19 with the first digital season pass powered by Theta Metachain. WPT has always taken a forward-thinking approach to using technology to engage with our users, and this is the next step in bringing more value to our loyal fans,”

said World Poker Tour CEO, Adam Pliska.

The passes are transferrable and can be gifted or sold to other individuals. The WPT Season Pass NFTs are already available on ThetaDrop. On a side note, existing World Poker Tour NFT holders will receive Season 19 passes for free.
