Tommy Hilfiger announces New York Fashion Week Metaverse show
American fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger returns to New York Fashion Week with a virtual show. The Fall 2022 presentation will happen in reality and in the Metaverse.
The physical show will take place on September 11 at the Skyline Drive-In in Brooklyn, while its digital version will be located in the Roblox version of New York City.
Viewers will have the option to purchase digital product exclusives for Roblox. The physical garment will also be available for purchase thanks to the new “See Now, Buy Now” concept.
“This is where fashion, art, music, and entertainment was all coming together when I first started out in the industry. And today, it is still this approach that inspires me to engage with the cutting-edge communities building new creative experiences. This season is all about the collision of my favorite archival inspirations with new live event concepts and virtual worlds. It’s the perfect expression of what we stand for as we pay homage to our roots with a return to NYFW,” said Tommy Hilfiger.
In March this year, Hilfiger was among the designers who presented their collections during Metaverse Fashion Week in Decentraland. The brand showcased its Spring 2022 Collection along with hand-crafted NFTs inspired by digital technology.
In June, Tommy Hilfiger expanded its Metaverse presence by launching ‘Tommy Play’ in Roblox. The space allows community members to socialize, play, and share.
