NFL Brings Saweetie Super Bowl Metaverse Concert to Roblox
In Brief
NFL is organizing the first-ever virtual Super Bowl concert featuring Saweetie.
The free concert debuts on February 10 in the Rhythm City in Roblox.
The National Football League (NFL) has announced the Saweetie Super Bowl Concert on Roblox. The metaverse concert, featuring hip-hop artist Saweetie from Warner Records, will be a part of the Super Bowl LVII lineup.
The free concert takes place in the recent virtual Rhythm City by Warner Music Group on Roblox, a music-themed social roleplay metaverse experience. Saweetie will perform a family-friendly, motion-captured performance of her popular songs, including “Tap-In,” to celebrate the approaching Super Bowl LVII.
The NFL will also introduce “Super NFL Tycoon” on Saturday, February 4. This new NFL experience on Roblox provides users the thrill of being an NFL team owner while developing crucial financial and business skills with Intuit’s help. Intuit is a global financial technology platform.
Super NFL Tycoon offers a realistic business simulation, including drafting a team, constructing an “Intuit Stadium,” and utilizing Intuit’s products to handle cash flow, payroll, taxes, and customer acquisition. During the virtual concert, users can easily switch between Super NFL Tycoon and Rhythm City through a designated portal. All experiences were created in collaboration with Gamefam, a gaming and content firm in the metaverse.
“With only one in four high school students having access to personal finance courses, we’re committed to finding innovative ways to expose more young people to financial literacy tools,”
said Lara Balazs, Intuit’s Chief Marketing Officer and General Manager of the Strategic Partner Group.
She added that “the metaverse provides an age-appropriate environment to introduce younger people to important financial concepts in a fun and engaging manner.”
The Saweetie Super Bowl Concert will debut on Friday, February 10, at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT and will be replayed every hour until Sunday, February 12. The NFL’s initiative will also be accompanied by a range of digital items available for purchase on the Roblox marketplace.
