Injective Launches inEVM to Bring Cross-Chain Composability to Cosmos and Solana

In Brief

Injective has launched its own Ethereum Virtual Machine to bring cross-chain composability to Cosmos and Solana.

The inEVM network was developed in collaboration with Caldera, a L2 rollup infrastructure platform backed by Sequoia.

inEVM will give Ethereum developers access to Injective’s global network and user base.

Injective Launches inEVM to Bring Cross-Chain Composability to Cosmos and Solana

Injective, a Layer-1 blockchain built for finance and Web3 modules, today announced the launch of inEVM, its own Ethereum Virtual Machine. The inEVM aims to bring cross-chain composability to Cosmos and Solana.

The development of the inEVM network involved a partnership with Caldera, a Sequoia-backed Layer 2 rollup infrastructure platform.

Injective asserts that Ethereum developers can tap into its extensive global network and user base through inEVM. The blockchain claims to boast rapid transaction processing facilitated by a parallelized structure, instant transaction finality, a versatile toolkit, shared liquidity, and composability across the Cosmos IBC and Solana ecosystems.

This development follows Injective’s recent introduction of inSVM (formerly Cascade), a Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) rollup solution incorporated into the wider Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) ecosystem. inSVM has enabled Solana developers to migrate their applications to Injective without requiring substantial code modifications.

Injective says that dApps launched on inEVM will be able to work with applications on Cosmos and Solana. As a result, developers using the inEVM layer would be able to achieve compatibility between different virtual machines, both within and outside their own.

“inEVM will enable Ethereum developers to effortlessly deploy applications across Injective rollups while also tapping into an expansive network of users and liquidity,” Eric Chen, co-founder and CEO of Injective Labs, said in a statement.

In the future, Injective plans to decentralize sequencers and validators using new solutions such as Altlayer and Espresso Systems.

The Layer-1 blockchain recently announced its collaboration with Espresso Systems to create decentralized rollup sequencers. The initial outcome of this partnership was the launch of a testnet for inSVM. After the completion of a successful testing phase, the mainnet deployment is scheduled to begin in early 2024.
