IBM Launches AI-Powered Threat Detection and Response Services to Bolster Cybersecurity
In Brief
IBM has introduced advanced Threat Detection and Response Services (TDR) that leverage AI to automate 85% of security alerts.
The services provide 24/7 monitoring, investigation, and automated remediation across hybrid cloud environments, strengthening cybersecurity response capabilities against evolving threats.
American multinational technology corporation IBM today unveiled its upgraded Threat Detection and Response Services (TDR), leveraging AI to automate 85% of security alerts. The services offer 24/7 monitoring, investigation, and automated remediation across various technology environments, including hybrid clouds, to enhance response agility against evolving cyber threats.
Furthermore, IBM Consulting’s global team of security analysts will deliver the services through IBM’s advanced security services platform. This platform harnesses the power of multiple layers of AI and draws upon contextual threat intelligence derived from IBM’s extensive global security network.
IBM said that organizations today grapple not only with an overwhelming number of attackers but also with an increasing volume of vulnerabilities, alerts, and security tools.
“By combining advanced analytics and real-time threat intelligence with human expertise, IBM’s new Threat Detection and Response Services can augment organization’s security defenses with a capability that is scalable, continuously improving and strong enough for tomorrow’s threats,”
said Chris McCurdy, General Manager, Worldwide IBM Consulting Cybersecurity Services.
Leveraging AI for Threat Detection
IBM’s TDR Services include AI-powered security technologies that continuously learn from real-world client data, allowing for the automatic closure of low-priority and false positive alerts while promptly escalating high-risk alerts that demand immediate action.
In addition, the services will offer crowdsourced detection rules, optimized alerts, MITRE ATT&CK framework assessment, seamless end-to-end integration with existing security assets, and 24×7 global support from IBM’s extensive network of cybersecurity professionals.
IBM’s TDR Services also aim to provide organizations with a solution to address staff shortages, increased threats, and the demand for more mature cybersecurity programs without needing a full-scale replacement of prior security investments. It will offer an off-ramp to these concerns and enable organizations to shift their security operations to a more proactive mode.
Moreover, IBM aims to ensure ongoing enhancement of security operations and provide access to IBM’s X-Force Incident Response Services. Clients will have the flexibility to incorporate further proactive security services, including penetration testing, adversary simulation or vulnerability management as needed.
In August, IBM expanded its partnership with Microsoft to boost the deployment of generative AI solutions for enterprise clients. The company introduced a new offering for clients to enhance their business processes and scale generative AI capabilities. IBM Consulting, in collaboration with Microsoft, guides clients to implement Azure OpenAI Service through the IBM Consulting Azure OpenAI Service solution.
