Gate Launches Gate Money, A New Financial Services Gateway Connecting Assets, Funds, And Payments
In Brief
Gate launches Gate Money at TOKEN2049, combining digital assets, fiat accounts, stocks, payments and yield products in one regulated platform.

Gate Founder and CEO Dr. Han announced Gate Money on October 7 during a keynote at TOKEN2049, presenting the service under the philosophy “One Gate, Everything Money”. The new platform is designed to combine digital assets, equities, payments and asset management within a single account, extending Gate beyond crypto trading into broader financial services. Access is enabled by updating the Gate App to version 8.39.0.
The system allows fiat currencies and digital assets to be held in one account structure, with consolidated visibility of balances and transaction activity. It supports fiat deposits and withdrawals as well as on-chain transfers. Fiat balances can be handled separately by currency, while eligible users may upgrade to a same-name bank account for receiving and withdrawing funds through personal account details, a function intended to simplify domestic and cross-border movement of money. Gate also offers access to traditional assets such as stocks and plans to broaden the range further, placing multiple asset types within a more unified account framework.
Gate Money is also positioned around spending. Through Gate Card, online and offline purchases can be paid in fiat or digital assets, with compatibility for Apple Pay and Google Pay. In selected markets, the service includes ATM withdrawals and local QR-code payments, reflecting different payment habits across regions. The aim is to make stored balances more usable for routine transactions, from e-commerce to in-store purchases.
For asset use, Convert allows exchanges between assets, while Earn provides wealth-management products. According to the announcement, eligible balances such as USDT may earn up to 3.6% without a lock-up period, offering yield while preserving access to funds. Assets required for liquidity can be converted when needed, while idle balances can be allocated to products under their applicable terms.
From Multi-Asset Access to Regulated Financial Infrastructure
The launch brings together holding, receiving, transferring, paying, converting and earning in one interface, linking asset management, fund flows and daily spending inside Gate. The company said the model moves its scope from trading and asset management toward payments, cash management and everyday financial needs.
Gate described its regulatory base as spanning key jurisdictions, including a MiCA Crypto Asset Service Provider license and a PSD2 Payment Institution license in Malta, a full Virtual Asset Service Provider license from Dubai’s VARA, and registration with AUSTRAC in Australia as a digital currency exchange provider. It also operates through local entities in markets such as Japan and says its coverage reaches 81 regulated jurisdictions. These permissions cover crypto trading and custody, digital currency services and payments. Alongside licenses, Gate said it works with international payment firms, banks, custodians and clearing institutions to support payments, funds, custody and settlement. The company indicated it will keep developing products as asset classes, payments and daily spending become more closely connected.
