Footballer Kevin Prince Boateng marries model Valentina Fradegrada in Metaverse wedding on the Moon
Football star Kevin Prince Boateng married Italian entrepreneur and model Valentina Fradegrada in the Metaverse.
The actual, in-real-life event occurred in a secret Italian location and was broadcast in the OVER Metaverse.
OVER is an Ethereum-based decentralized infrastructure for the Metaverse, focusing on Augmented Reality. The company’s AR experiences range from static 3D content to interactive hyper-real scenes.
OVER developed and designed the virtual venue in partnership with Enzo Miccio. Italian showman and wedding planner Miccio also organized and hosted the physical event.
The couple wanted to get married where no one had done it before. So the Metaverse wedding venue was the surface of the Moon.
Kevin Prince and Valentina Fradegrada issued a collection of virtual invitations in an NFT format. These were created by visual artist francescodvrk. The NFTs granted access to the transmission of the Metaverse wedding. Individuals had an opportunity to purchase NFT invitations for $50 on OpenSea.
Proceeds from sales of the invitations will go to Fradegrada’s VF Foundation. It was founded in 2020 and supports certain charitable activities identified in the bylaws.
