Animoca Brands and Emergent Entertainment Team Up to Develop Resurgence

Digital entertainment leader Animoca Brands partners with gaming and entertainment company Emergent. The organizations team up to develop Resurgence, a blockchain-based free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game. The survival-focused game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world a thousand years after the fall of human civilization. Resurgence players take on the role of individuals who woke up after a deep cryosleep.
Emergent is focused on metaverse and blockchain-based game development. The company’s executive management includes industry experts who previously worked for PlayStation, Activision, and NCSoft. More than that, Emergent is home to over sixty developers that created such noted games as FIFA, NBA Online, The Sims, Need for Speed, and Gran Turismo, among others.
Animoca Brands will provide Emergent support and advisory services across various fields. For instance, the entertainment giant will offer support in governance and tokenomics. In addition, Animoca will help Emergent develop business and marketing strategies.
On a side note, Resurgence will be launched on the Immutable X platform, which provides a zero gas fee environment and maintains robust security.

Animoca Brands has recently introduced several partnerships. In March this year, the company teamed up with Planet Hollywood to launch CLUB 3, a private members-only club aimed at the global web3 community. The first location will be open in Los Angeles. In November, Animoca collaborated with the blue-chip NFT collection Cool Cats. The companies released a football-themed NFT collection to celebrate the FIFA World Cup 2022.
