Social metaverse company Social Future has raised $6 million in a funding round joined by crypto investors, including SNZ, Everest Venture Group, Folius Ventures, Y2Z Ventures, Mask Network, Tess Ventures, Stratified Capital, and Mindfulness Capital.
The company is a member of OMA3 (Open Metaverse Alliance), which gathers well-known web3 and metaverse companies, including brands like Animoca Brands and Decentraland. Social Future’s goal is to shape the future of social experiences by incorporating phygital interaction, immersive content, and self-sovereign communities.
Social Future is building its flagship product, MAY (“Meet Another You”). Built with AI and on the blockchain, MAY allows users to generate ownable 3D virtual worlds where expressions and voices are conveyed in real-time via avatars. These virtual worlds are interconnected and can eventually become an open metaverse for socializing and playing.
With just one click, users can create NFT spaces where avatars and communities reside. Social Future claims that MAY enhances metaverse experiences with AI companions and AI features in 3D spaces, enabling asset ownership.
Social Future’s original IP, ThreeEarsBunny (TEB), will be integrated into MAY as a fun-filled theme park with a collection of NFT-based games. Launched two months ago, TEB has already amassed a community of 30,000 members.
Since officially launching in January, Social Future claims to have grown its user base to over 100,000 users from North America and enrolled more than 20,000 unique active wallets (UAW) per week. Seventy percent of its users are crypto-native, and an MPC wallet is on the horizon to bridge Web2 users to the benefits of web3, like ownership of their social content. Users can generate their own digital assets with upcoming generative AI features on their platform.
“Our vision is to connect people with emotions through AI-driven creations and interactions in 3D communities. We believe that MAY will transform the way people connect and interact with each other, and we look forward to bringing this vision to life,” Vance Gong, founder of Social Future, said in a statement.
