Mobile application Snapchat announced a new feature for its generative artificial intelligence-powered tool, “My AI Snaps,” available for Snapchat+ subscribers.

My AI Snaps now allows users to send Snaps of what they’re up to and receive generative Snaps back from My AI. Notably, the program responds every time a user sends a Snap, keeping the conversation going. So, the tool enables individuals to communicate with artificial intelligence at any time of the day on different topics.

For example, Snapchat users can Snap a photo of a pizza they are about to eat, and AI will reply with a reaction. According to the company, individuals can use the tool for creativity. More than that, users can ask different questions, such as “What should I wear to prom?” or “Which movie to see?” When sending a snap of a grocery haul, Snap My AI might recommend a recipe.

Notably, Snapchat suggests not to rely solely on the app, as it may give incorrect answers. The developer claims the tool was designed to avoid biased, incorrect, harmful, or misleading information.

As stated in Snapchat’s official announcement, My AI can create over 55,000 Snaps per second on average. It will store all the Snaps shared with the program in order to improve the product experience.

The feature, initially available for paid subscribers only, was first introduced in February this year. At Snap Partner Summit in April, the company announced that My AI Snaps could be used for free. During the summit, Snapchat also introduced generative artificial intelligence-powered AR lenses.

In addition, Snapchat’s parent company Snap has recently launched a new business unit called AR Enterprise Services. The company offers augmented reality shopping tools to retailers by providing a fit finder; clothing, eyewear, and footwear try-on technology; as well as 3D viewer technology.
