September’s Final Days In Crypto Partnerships: Chainlink And Circle Lead The Pack

This week’s list leans institutional: Infosys plugging Chainlink into 1.7 billion bank accounts, Binance putting real money behind Circle rather than just promoting it, Raiffeisen opening crypto access to 18 million customers across Central and Eastern Europe. Infosys Partners With Chainlink to Standardize Onchain Finance for Banks

Infosys, the IT services giant whose financial-services technology reportedly supports more than 1.7 billion customer accounts worldwide, has partnered with Chainlink to give its banking and capital-markets clients a single, repeatable route into onchain finance rather than a custom build for every institution.

The technical scope is broad: the deal covers Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol for moving tokenized assets between blockchains, its Runtime Environment for coordinating onchain and offchain workflows, an Automated Compliance Engine for policy enforcement, Proof of Reserve for verifying what actually backs a stablecoin or tokenized product, and both Data Streams and Data Feeds for market data.

Infosys will layer its own consulting and systems-integration work on top of that stack, building joint solutions around tokenized assets, payments and settlement infrastructure.

Chainlink already counts Swift, Euroclear, Mastercard and UBS among its users, and describes its infrastructure as having enabled tens of trillions of dollars in transaction value, scale that presumably made Infosys comfortable betting its own institutional relationships on the integration.

Notably, the announcement names no specific bank or production deployment, and no commercial terms were disclosed, which makes this more of a technology channel than a confirmed rollout.

Infosys builds the reusable pattern, and adoption from actual clients is expected to take time to materialize rather than happen overnight.

Coinmotion Partners With K33 as Its Institutional Execution Partner

Coinmotion, the largest MiCA-licensed crypto broker operating in Finland and Sweden, has partnered with K33 to handle institutional trade execution, pairing Coinmotion’s established retail and investor platform with K33’s specialization in institutional-grade trading infrastructure.

Both companies are MiCA-authorized, which the two CEOs pointed to directly as what actually made a partnership like this practical to put together.

Torbjørn Bull Jenssen, K33’s CEO, said MiCA creates “a common regulatory framework” that makes these kinds of specialist collaborations easier to execute, letting each company focus on what it’s actually good at rather than trying to build every capability internally.

Antti-Jussi Suominen, Coinmotion’s CEO, framed the partnership similarly, describing a shared goal with K33 of building “a mature, transparent and regulated” European crypto market, and calling the deal a natural example of how regulated specialists can combine strengths rather than compete on overlapping ground.

For Coinmotion, the immediate benefit is a stronger offering for clients with larger trading needs, the kind of institutional flow that a retail-focused platform typically isn’t built to handle well on its own.

For K33, it’s another step in expanding an institutional execution business that’s increasingly betting on MiCA-driven consolidation as the defining trend in how European crypto firms will work together going forward.

Raiffeisen and Bitpanda’s Partnership Gives 18 Million Bank Customers a Crypto On-Ramp

Raiffeisen Bank International is teaming up with Bitpanda to give customers across Central and Eastern Europe direct access to crypto investing through their existing banking relationship: a group-wide expansion rather than the one-off pilots that have characterized bank-crypto partnerships in the region until now.

The structure gives each RBI subsidiary bank flexibility: Bitpanda Enterprise provides the underlying infrastructure, but individual banks decide how and when to actually launch, based on local market conditions and regulatory requirements specific to their country. That’s a deliberate choice rather than an oversight.

A Bitpanda spokesperson told Cointelegraph the rollout is still early-stage and will proceed “step by step” as individual markets confirm participation, reflecting just how patchwork the regulatory landscape across CEE genuinely is.

The number that matters here is 18 million. The potential customer base across RBI’s various subsidiaries who could eventually gain access once the rollout actually reaches their market. That’s a meaningfully larger scale than most bank-crypto tie-ups attempted in the region so far, and it leans on Bitpanda’s MiCA licensing as the regulatory foundation that lets a traditional bank feel comfortable opening this door at all. Whether it becomes a reference case other regional banks follow will likely depend on how smoothly the first few markets in this rollout actually go.

Walker Digital Table Systems Partners With BurraPay to Bring Crypto to Casino Tables

Walker Digital Table Systems, or WDTS, has partnered with BurraPay to become the first table games management platform offering BurraPay’s Direct-to-Device crypto payment technology to casino operators, a notable first given how hard compliance requirements have made it for crypto to enter licensed US casino gaming until now.

WDTS technology already runs on more than 5,000 gaming tables across Asia, Australia and North America, giving BurraPay a fairly immediate international footprint to plug into.

Stephen Moore, WDTS’s CEO, described BurraPay’s platform as a genuinely transformative addition to how casino payments work, calling it a strong complement to WDTS’s existing suite.

BurraPay says its patented system was built specifically to satisfy the compliance demands of US gaming regulators, running anti-money laundering checks quickly in the background so players can fund a table game wagering account with crypto almost instantly, without the usual trip to the cashier’s cage.

Luke Millanta, BurraPay’s co-founder and CTO, said the integration gives players a compliant way to fund gameplay directly with crypto at the table, calling it “a win-win for operators and players alike”.

Operators get a tool to attract crypto-native customers, while existing players get a faster funding option. The two companies plan live demonstrations at WDTS’s Las Vegas headquarters during the G2E trade show, running September 29 through October 1.

Binance Buys a $100 Million Stake in Circle, Renewing Its USDC Partnership

Binance has invested $100 million in Circle and renewed its strategic partnership around promoting USDC across Binance’s global platform, with the new arrangement running for five years. The equity purchase, priced at a 5% discount to Circle’s market price ahead of closing, turns what had been a working relationship into something with real financial skin behind it.

Under the deal, Binance will focus specifically on pushing USDC adoption in emerging markets, while Circle continues supplying the infrastructure that makes holding and using the stablecoin work reliably at scale.

Richard Teng, Binance’s co-CEO, called Circle one of the “most credible issuers” in the space, saying the investment and five-year commitment reflect “long-duration conviction” rather than a short-term marketing tie-up, and argued that a trusted digital dollar “should not be a privilege” but something available to anyone with a phone.

Jeremy Allaire, Circle’s co-founder and CEO, pointed to Binance’s scale as the real opportunity here, noting the exchange has built one of the largest platforms anywhere for using digital currency and become among the most widely used wallets globally for dollar stablecoins. Between Binance’s distribution and Circle’s infrastructure, the pitch is straightforward: more people in emerging markets holding and actually using a stable, dollar-backed asset, rather than just trading speculative tokens.
