Quip Network Turns Quantum Computers Into Blockchain Randomness Machines With New Ethereum Collection

Postquant Labs, the company behind the decentralized quantum computing marketplace quip.network, has announced the release of Quantum Echoes, described as the first digital collectible collection created from verifiable measurements produced by gate-based quantum hardware. The assets, referred to by the company as Quantum Forged Tokens, or QFTs, are intended to show how quantum processors can supply verifiable randomness for blockchain-based applications.

The collection is being offered as a free open-edition mint on Ethereum through OpenSea. According to Postquant Labs, each item is generated from physically unclonable quantum information rather than from conventional algorithmic processes, meaning every collector receives an output derived from an actual quantum measurement.

The launch also serves as the starting point for Quip Network’s second subnet, a random circuit sampling subnet designed to produce verifiable quantum randomness at scale. This development addresses a longstanding limitation for gate-based quantum computers, including those manufactured by providers such as IBM and IonQ, which have generally been unable to match modern computer clusters on combinatorial optimization tasks, the focus of Quip’s initial deployments. The new subnet gives these machines a practical, monetizable function within the network, allowing them to generate token revenue by providing randomness. Postquant Labs indicated that additional subnets aimed at gate-based systems are planned, with each new proof of useful work benchmarking participating hardware and identifying its specific capabilities.

From Benchmarking to Monetized Infrastructure

“We’ve spent the last hundred years telling people that quantum is this spooky and mysterious thing that even the smartest people in the world don’t understand,” said Colton Dillion, CEO and co-founder of Postquant Labs in a written statement. 

“With Quantum Echoes, we are making multimillion-dollar quantum hardware tangible for everyone, proving that quantum computing can be part of our daily digital lives and not only limited to supercomputing labs or classified facilities. And this isn’t only an art drop. Every mint is a real quantum computer doing useful, paid work — the first time our network has turned quantum hardware into an economic engine, not just a research curiosity,” he added. 

“Random circuit sampling is a benchmarking tool that proves a device is truly quantum, as classical computers cannot replicate it efficiently. It is the same class of workload behind the landmark ‘quantum supremacy’ demonstrations, a quantum processor doing what today’s most powerful classical supercomputers effectively cannot,” commented Dr. Richard Carback, CTO and co-founder of Postquant Labs in a written statement. 

“We are repurposing this diagnostic to unlock a cryptographically secure random number generation service that powers Quantum Echoes. Every output is derived from a real quantum measurement, and its origin is fully verifiable. This proves that the hardware used can perform useful, paid work on the network, making randomness our second key workload,” he noted. 

Key characteristics of the launch include the use of genuine quantum state collapse to determine each trait, an open-source approach with a free mint queue, and a mechanism called Eigen Keys through which community partners and longstanding members are guaranteed a rare edition at reveal. The rare supply is limited to 1,000 items carrying enhanced traits verified by the same quantum infrastructure, while standard participants retain a chance of receiving rare items without a guarantee.

Collectors will access Quantum Echoes onchain via Ethereum and OpenSea, with QFT reveal taking place at echoes.quip.network approximately one week after minting.

Beyond the collection itself, Postquant Labs stated that the random circuit sampling subnet is intended to support a wider range of applications requiring independently verifiable randomness, including gaming and financial systems. The company framed Quantum Echoes as the first public demonstration of this capability, positioning QFTs as infrastructure rather than a single collectible release.
