2023

Today, Waabi and Uber Freight announced a strategic alliance to hasten the large-scale, safe implementation of AI-powered autonomous trucks. In order to provide the first-ever complete driver-as-a-service solution, Uber Freight’s extensive logistics infrastructure, marketplace technology, and autonomous trucking operations experience are paired with Waabi’s core technology, the Waabi Driver.

The integrated solution can greatly boost asset utilization and boost profitability for carriers of all sizes by giving them the services and infrastructure they need to install, operate, and manage their autonomous assets with simplicity. In order to make sure the technology will have a significant long-term impact on shippers and carriers, the two businesses also plan to deploy billions of miles of Waabi Driver capacity alongside carrier partners on the Uber Freight network over the next 10 years.

Waabi Driver trucks have been put on the Uber Freight network, providing Uber Freight clients with early access to autonomous freight capacity, in order to collect important data for the collaborative solution. The first of the autonomous commercial loads ran this week; they will run on a regular basis between Dallas and Houston, providing Uber Freight’s thousands of shippers and carriers with an opportunity to learn more about what the future holds for supply chain operations and how autonomous trucks can enhance network efficiency. Commercial activities will swiftly spread to additional important routes in Texas and abroad as the relationship develops.
