MPost Markets: Cryptocurrencies in the green as bitcoin sees one of the worst months in history

Most cryptocurrencies are still in the green, but bitcoin has experienced another price drop.

The price of bitcoin has just dropped, falling by 1.13% and now trading at $19,476.13, the coin remains below the $20k mark, but it’s still got a long way to go before we can really say it’s doing well.

As Glassnode notes, “Bitcoin has locked in one of the worst monthly price performances in history, with prices trading down -37.9% in June. Bitcoin has seen a near complete expulsion of market tourists, leaving the resolve of HODLers as the last line standing.” The only worse month for Bitcoin has occurred during the 2011 bear market. The market continually remains at risCardano’sU.S. inflation is high, and the fear of potential recession constantly looming on the horizon, as Glassnode notes.  

Ethereum’s ether is regaining its worth. Up by 0.94%, it’s now $1,131.06. Binance’s BNB has nearly reached the price of $226, with a price increase of 0.94%. XRP and Cardano’s ADA have seen a drop of 1.85%, while Solana SOL is down by 1.84%. Only Convex Finance CVX has seen price upticks oDecentraland’s by 14%.

Metaverse cryptocurrencies have also experienced some price upticks over the day, but the prices are now down again, with the market cap up in the red. The trading volume has seen an increase of an amazing 59.82%.

Flow is barely up, by 0.27%, while Decentraland’s MANA is down by 3.30%, and The Sandbox is down by 1.48%. ApeCoin has seen a small uptick of just below 1%. However, some other cryptocurrencies have experienced much larger price increases. XMON has seen an impressive rise of 30.75%, while Ternoa CAPS and LooksRare LOOKS have experienced a rise of 16.34% and 8.60%, respectively.

The Metaverse Index MVI is also in the green, up by 3.08% and now trading at $37.77.
