Kiraverse multiplayer gameplay gives major Fortnite vibes
In Brief
While still in its early playtest version with finer improvements being made each day, Kiraverse appears to be a fast paced online shooter with its tech-infused cast paired with a deep arsenal that makes for a competitive canvas, if a tricky one to initially pick up. Animoca Brands’ latest strategic investment Param Labs and its flagship game Kiraverse is all about quick-fire headshots, weapons and nail biting battles.
Kiraverse offers a robust economy with lots of in game customisation options. The game focuses greatly on solo and team based game modes with a large map, Call of Duty style re-spawning mechanics, loads of weapons and vehicles.
Param Labs, the studio behind the game, also introduces its Pixel-to-Poly service, a unique IP that allows people to transform their 2D images into 3D game ready avatars. “Our community has been importing their custom BAYC, Punks and other NFTs into the game, creating custom characters, which really adds a unique level of personalised touch in the game,” says CEO and co-founder Anthony Anderson in a statement.
According to official reports from Param Labs, Kiraverse has seen over 1m wallets connected. Still under development, Kiraverse is currently available on Windows PC.
As for the game itself, the learning curve may be a bit steep, but if you’ve ever indulged into the world of Fortnite or PUBG in the last couple of years or so, Kiraverse’ gameplay and game-modes will be immediately familiar. Each player can choose their distinct character and deploy themselves into a huge open world map with unique weapons and vehicles with different abilities.
Gamers can participate in one of two modes, free-for-all, a solo based game mode where players compete individually eliminating opponents to earn the highest score in a set time limit, or elimination, a team based game mode where each team competes to eliminate its opposing teams. The back and forth battles in the cyberpunk city can be as pulse-pounding as they are gratifying.
From the first few hours of gameplay, it seems like a mix of thunderous Fortnite-style ultimate gameplay with hints of Valorant style teamplay options. While that might raise an eye-brow for some, it creates a spectacular sense of tension, encouraging scenarios of a chill down the spine kind of team or solo combat.
The company also reported that it secured over 50+ IP partnerships with brands such as GameStop, Immutable X, NFT collection Pudgy-Penguins, as well as Animoca brands’ Mocaverse initiative and more.
Param labs aims to build up on a unique ownership infrastructure that can allow gaming studios to easily transition into web3, granting their players genuine ownership of in-game assets while maintaining compliance standards.
Parent company Param Labs recently announced the joining of former Activision Blizzard President of Consumer Products, Steven Young, to their lineup of advisors.

There’s a layer of depth that most web3 titles do not have
Through Param Labs, the game aims to include an inbuilt Fortnite style wager-system.
Param Pools
The company uses a wager system where players can compete against each other by staking certain amounts in a pool and claiming the pooled funds by meeting conditions, such as winning a game. Kiraverse utilises smart contracts as automated escrows which allows players in game to do so.
$Param token
Kiraverse’ and Param labs’ central ecosystem cryptocurrency token $param serves as the payment method to Param Pools. The company’s native token serves as the payment method for its Param Pools. $param, a utility and governance token central to all things within the Param Labs ecosystem is used to deliver practical utility such as providing discounts for holders on NFTs, merch and more. The company also reported that staking $param can provide opportunities to acquire free NFTs, incentivising further user engagement.
According to the official litepaper, $param is also used for ecosystem development, in-game advertising, revenue sharing, as well as NFT marketplace fees and more.
Laying out the Red Carpet
The UAE-headquartered game and development studio has also secured backing from some of the largest names in web3 including Animoca brands, Polygon Ventures and more.
On top of the stellar lineup not just in-game but outside with the team, Dubai’s Crown Prince HH Sheikh Hamdan’s “Dubai Program for Gaming 2033” serves as a major boost given the presence and growth within the MENA region and especially within the UAE.
Verdict
While still in its early playtest version with finer improvements being made each day, it appears to be a fast paced online shooter with its tech-infused cast paired with a deep arsenal that makes for a competitive canvas, if a tricky one to initially pick up. Beyond gameplay, the advanced monetisation systems and tournament structure make it easier for a non-cryptocurrency savvy gamers to participate and play.
With its teeth sunk in the deep, Kiraverse already feels immersive, well-designed and fast-paced, with a potential for an expansive growth model and game economy.
