Gate Update: CoinGecko Confirms Liquidity Lead as Gate Launches Stock Event Contracts and Deepens Multi-Asset Infrastructure

Gate’s most recent product cycle played out against a difficult macro backdrop. According to the platform’s latest Institutional Weekly Report, energy shocks, persistent inflation, and Federal Reserve rate-hike expectations defined market sentiment over the past week. WTI crude briefly exceeded $100, the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield approached 5% intraday, and BTC declined to approximately $76,800. Institutional flows diverged: BTC ETFs recorded around $463 million in net outflows, while ETH ETFs absorbed approximately $197 million in net inflows. Gate’s TradFi weekly trading volume reached roughly $120 billion amid the volatility.
Against that backdrop, Gate moved into traditional equities with what it describes as the world’s first stock event contracts, initially covering MU, SNDK, SKHYNIX, and Unitree Robotics, alongside existing crypto contracts for BTC, ETH, SOL, and others. The product requires no leverage or margin and supports early position closure. A dedicated trading competition runs through September 21 with a 60,000 USDT reward pool. That launch coincides with an independent market assessment: CoinGecko’s liquidity analysis — based on order book data from August 25 to September 7 — ranked Gate first in Top-of-Book depth share on seven of the 30 tracked spot pairs, including BTC (27.3%), ETH (37.5%), and XRP (39.2%), and first or second on 28 of the 30 pairs overall, reinforcing its position as a leading venue for execution quality.
These developments sit alongside a broader week of product and infrastructure updates across the platform.
Arc, Metals, and TradFi Infrastructure
Gate was among the first exchanges to integrate Circle’s Arc blockchain following its launch on September 16, enabling asset discovery and trading across Gate Wallet, Gate Trenches, on-chain market data, and derivatives. Gate Trenches additionally offers zero-gas trading on Arc as an exclusive feature.
Precious metals saw sharp moves following the Fed’s rate decision. Gold and silver prices fell roughly 3% from intraday highs. Gate’s silver futures recorded a 24-hour trading volume of $253 million, ranking second in the industry, while XAUT open interest reached approximately $127 million, also second. XAUT was trading at $4,281.15 (−0.77%); XAG stood at $63.41 (−1.78%).
Equities activity was also notable. In the U.S., AXT Inc. (AXTI), Semtech (SMTC), and Forgent Power Solutions (FPS) rose 11.36%, 11.14%, and 11.12% respectively. In Japan, Land Co. (8918), PowerX (485A), and Lasertec (6920) gained 10.00%, 8.97%, and 8.06%. To extend equities coverage, Gate Futures Stock Section launched perpetual futures, trading bots, and copy trading for seven instruments on September 18 — PATH (UiPath), CYPH, HUT, APLD, AGPU, QLD, and CONL — with leverage up to 20x.
Prediction Markets: Features and Live Events
Gate Prediction Markets introduced the Combo feature and a dedicated U.S. Midterm Elections hub, accessible via Gate App version 8.37. Combo allows users to combine multiple selections — match outcomes, spreads, totals, exact scores — into a single parlay-style order. The Midterm Elections hub consolidates Senate, House, and gubernatorial markets with filters by election type, party, state, and race rating, supplemented by election maps and seat share data. A concurrent “Crypto Rules Frontline” contract trading leaderboard campaign carries a prize pool of up to 20,000 USDT.
Currently live: Gate’s Prediction Market is running markets on Brentford vs. Chelsea (Premier League Matchday 5, September 18, 19:00 UTC), with support rates at 35%, 41%, and 26% for home, away, and draw respectively. The Points Season 5 total prize pool has reached 46,413 USDT. A “Prediction Market Launch Gift” campaign runs through September 28, offering new users 1:1 loss compensation of up to 20 USDT on a qualifying first trade, daily check-in rewards from a 28,000 USDT pool, and an additional 10,000 USDT pool exclusive to VIP users.
Meme Markets, New Listings, and On-Chain Activity
Gate’s Meme sector covers 156 spot assets and 80 USDT perpetual assets, with order book depth near mid-price at approximately 8.92 million USDT (spot) and 40.97 million USDT (perpetual). DOGE led both categories, posting 24-hour volumes of roughly $23.59 million (spot) and $47.35 million (perpetual). 龙虾 recorded approximately $10.90 million in spot and $19.84 million in perpetual volume.
Robinhood Chain Meme activity continued to increase, with combined spot and perpetual volume across Gate’s Robinhood Chain markets approaching 30 million USDT in 24 hours. PONS spot volume reached approximately $12.89 million (second industrywide) and CASHCAT approximately $2.70 million (also second). Gate Futures Robinhood Section additionally launched MUSEBOOK perpetual futures (USDT-settled, 1–10x leverage) with trading bots and copy trading. In the Meme futures category, GSTOCKBSC perpetual futures (1–10x leverage) were also launched; GSTOCKBSC is a community token associated with Genius.Fun, a BSC Stock-Meme launchpad by Genius Foundation.
Among new listings, Gate launched Hunter Biden’s Laptop (LAPTOP) spot trading on September 18. A Launchpool campaign running through October 9 allows users to stake BTC or LAPTOP to share 1,289,608 LAPTOP tokens, distributed hourly. The third and final distribution of Gate Pre-IPOs #2 OpenAI (OPENAI) asset certificates was also completed on September 17, fully unlocking the remaining 40%; the certificates previously peaked above $986, with subscription returns reaching up to 36.57%.
On the ETF front, Gate launched ZEC5L/USDT and ZEC5S/USDT (5x long/short exposure to ZEC), bringing its total ETF token count to 423. A ZEC ETF Trading Challenge runs September 17–24, with up to 50,000 USDT in ZEC equivalent unlockable through cumulative trading volume milestones, with a cap of 500 USDT per user.
Content, Metrics, and Community Campaigns
Gate Talk Episode 7 features on-chain researcher Feng Mi (@KuiGas), who outlined four dimensions for airdrop evaluation — odds, probability, cost, and competition — noting a structural shift away from high-volume multi-account strategies toward genuine ecosystem participation. He also discussed practical AI applications for project tracking and risk analysis across on-chain and multi-asset trading.
According to DefiLlama data, Gate’s 24-hour futures open interest currently exceeds $11.976 billion, placing it among the top three centralized exchanges.
On the community side, Gate Social Growth Points Lucky Draw Round 23 is live through September 29, with new Live and Creator-exclusive task categories now added alongside standard engagement missions. Each 300 Growth Points earns one draw entry, with prizes including a 5,000 USDT Position Voucher and various platform benefits. The Futures Points Airdrop Phase 143 launches September 20, offering 100 USDT position vouchers and 12 USD1 claimable against Futures Points balances, using a decreasing threshold mechanism that gives priority access to users with higher point holdings.
