Gate Partners With Alpaca For Upcoming Real Stock Trading Access For Global Users

In Brief

Gate partners with Alpaca to expand access to 10,000+ U.S. stocks and ETFs, enabling fractional trading and USDT payments as it builds a unified crypto and traditional finance platform.

Gate Partners With Alpaca For Upcoming Real Stock Trading Access For Global Users

Cryptocurrency exchange Gate has entered into a strategic partnership with Alpaca to broaden access to US stock and exchange-traded fund (ETF) trading for eligible users. The initiative reflects a growing trend among financial platforms seeking to integrate digital assets and traditional investment products within a single ecosystem.

Under the planned rollout, eligible Gate users will be able to trade more than 10,000 stocks and ETFs listed on major U.S. exchanges, including the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq. The service is expected to support fractional share purchases starting from $1 and will allow users to access stock and ETF markets through Gate’s existing account structure. The platform also plans to facilitate trading using USDT, creating a connection between cryptocurrency holdings and traditional equity investments.

The development represents a further expansion of Gate’s efforts to diversify beyond digital asset trading. Since its launch in 2013, the company has expanded its operations into a broader range of financial services, with a focus on creating a multi-asset investment environment. The addition of stock trading is intended to simplify access to traditional markets by reducing the need for separate brokerage accounts and multiple onboarding processes.

Brokerage Partnership Powers Stock Trading Expansion

Through the partnership, Alpaca will provide the brokerage infrastructure supporting the new offering. Its responsibilities will include order execution, clearing, settlement, custody services, dividend processing, and the handling of corporate actions. By relying on Alpaca’s brokerage framework, Gate aims to introduce regulated stock and ETF trading while maintaining a user experience familiar to participants in digital asset markets.

Executives from both companies described the collaboration as part of a broader shift toward greater integration between cryptocurrency and traditional financial services. The partnership is designed to expand investment opportunities across multiple asset classes while improving access to global capital markets through a unified platform.

The agreement also aligns with Gate’s wider strategy of building a comprehensive financial ecosystem that spans both digital and conventional assets. In addition to equities and ETFs, the company has continued to develop offerings linked to indices, commodities, precious metals, and foreign exchange markets. As the boundaries between cryptocurrency and traditional finance continue to evolve, firms across the sector are increasingly exploring ways to provide investors with broader market access and more diversified investment options through a single platform.
