Gate Launches Commission-Free US Stock Options Trading, Broadening Access To Global Equity Markets

Cryptocurrency exchange Gate announced that it has launched U.S. stock options trading, with the initial rollout covering nine widely followed American equities. The starting selection comprises NVIDIA (NVDA), Tesla (TSLA), Apple (AAPL), Meta Platforms (META), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Micron Technology (MU), Amazon (AMZN), Alphabet Class A Shares (GOOGL), and Broadcom (AVGO). These securities span sectors that have attracted considerable market attention, including artificial intelligence and technology, semiconductors, electric vehicles, and cloud computing. To access the new feature, users must update the Gate App to version 8.35.0, a move that further diversifies the strategic tools available on the platform.
The product has been structured to simplify both account access and settlement processes. Market participants can engage in U.S. stock options trading without opening a dedicated U.S. brokerage account or margin account. Settlements are conducted in USDT, with no physical delivery of the underlying securities required. This means traders do not need to set aside the full capital necessary to acquire the underlying shares at settlement, nor are they required to maintain share holdings for delivery purposes, rendering the overall trading and settlement workflow more direct. During the initial phase, Gate will charge zero platform fees and zero options commissions, with trading activity limited to regular U.S. market hours. Regulatory and clearing fees levied by third parties will be applied separately according to relevant regulations. Detailed trading conditions are available on the platform interface.
Strategic Development of Global Market Access
The rollout of U.S. stock options constitutes a notable advancement in Gate’s broader initiative to reinforce its international stock trading infrastructure. The company has built an equity trading ecosystem covering four primary jurisdictions: the United States, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Japan, encompassing access to over 12,800 individual stocks and exchange-traded funds. This scale of coverage enables users to construct more varied global asset allocation strategies. Gate previously implemented a zero-fee structure for U.S. equity trading and facilitates fractional share purchases, dividend distributions, cross-broker transfers for American and Hong Kong securities, and corporate events such as standard and reverse stock splits, measures that have progressively refined the equity trading environment.
The inclusion of options contracts renders Gate’s equity product lineup more complete. In addition to obtaining direct exposure through stocks and ETFs, participants can now express directional views on anticipated price changes in major U.S. equities using call options, put options, and combination strategies. This expansion affords increased adaptability across varying market conditions and investment methodologies. The opening roster of nine liquid underlying assets has widened the toolkit accessible to users and accommodates a broader spectrum of market engagement and portfolio construction requirements.
Gate has indicated that future developments will center on serving the multi-asset trading demands of its global user base through enlarged geographic market coverage, an extended selection of equities and associated instruments, and persistent upgrades to trading functionality, asset management capabilities, and client service standards. By advancing its integrated multi-asset trading platform, the company seeks to equip users with additional, more adaptable channels for accessing global financial markets.
