Gate Crosses 60M User Milestone, Backed By $8.2B In Proof-Of-Reserves And Licensed Operations Across Five Jurisdictions

Digital asset platform Gate has announced that its registered user base has exceeded 60 million, a milestone that reflects both its global market penetration and its ongoing evolution from a cryptocurrency exchange into a comprehensive financial services ecosystem.

The platform currently supports over 5,000 digital assets alongside 12,800 stocks and exchange-traded funds, with its service portfolio spanning trading, wealth management, payments, wallets, and Web3 applications. Gate has also broadened its offerings to include traditional asset classes such as real-world assets, foreign exchange, precious metals, and commodities.

According to market data, the platform ranks second globally in 24-hour spot trading volume and maintains a position within the top three for derivatives trading. Its stock trading infrastructure operates around the clock and covers U.S., Hong Kong, South Korean, and Japanese markets, providing access to more than 10,000 U.S. equities and ETFs, over 1,500 Hong Kong listings, and additional markets across Asia.

The platform features zero-fee trading for U.S. stocks, fractional share purchases, dividend processing, and cross-broker transfer capabilities, alongside newer products such as Pre-IPO access and tokenized equities under its gStocks initiative. Gate is further integrating artificial intelligence and decentralized infrastructure through Gate Wallet, Gate Pay, and Gate AI to expand practical use cases for digital assets beyond speculative trading.

Security Framework and Regulatory Expansion Underpin Growth

Gate’s user growth has been accompanied by systematic investments in transparency and compliance infrastructure. As of mid-August 2026, the platform’s Proof of Reserves report indicated total reserves of $8.215 billion with a reserve ratio of 127%, exceeding the industry baseline of 100%. Excess reserves for Bitcoin and Ethereum stood at 22.79% and 22.05% respectively, while stablecoin holdings totaling $1.578 billion were backed by a combined reserve ratio of 111.63%.

On the regulatory front, Gate entities have secured registrations, licenses, or operational approvals across multiple jurisdictions including Malta, the Bahamas, Japan, Australia, and Dubai. The company has outlined a long-term strategy centered on deepening the convergence between cryptocurrency and traditional finance while scaling its multi-asset ecosystem globally. By continuing to upgrade its infrastructure, security protocols, and operational capabilities across diverse markets, Gate aims to establish itself as an integrated financial platform capable of serving hundreds of millions of users across investing, trading, payments, and wealth management.
