Animoca Brands and Lympo partner with Play Magnus Group to develop a chess-themed blockchain game, “Anichess.” The game will be based on a play-and-earn ecosystem and will use Lympo’s $SPORT token. It is supposed to enhance the playing experience and bring talented chess players to the game.
Anichess will grant users access to more than thirty chess grandmasters, among which Liem Le, Magnus Carlsen, and Jan-Krzysztof Duda. They will test the game and provide advice on the immersive gaming experience.

Lympo is an international global sports NFT ecosystem. Acquired by Animoca Brands in 2020, the company is a leader in Sports NFTs and GameFi.
Play Magnus Group was founded in 2013 by Magnus Carlsen, a world chess champion. The company has previously developed learning, playing, coaching, and competing services. For instance, Play Magnus Group introduced chess24, the Play Magnus App Suite, Chessable, Everyman Chess, iChess, New In Chess, Aimchess, Silver Knights, and the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour.
“The concept of Anichess will amplify the traditional chess experience with a new phenomenal strategic layer that will produce situations never seen before. Well-established game designers, super chess grandmasters, esports stars, and casual gamers are working together to deliver an action-packed blockchain chess experience,”
said the CEO and co-founder of Lympo, Tadas Maurukas.

Anichess is set to launch in 2023.
