Immutable Rolls Out Public Testing for zkEVM, Showcasing AAA Web3 Games
In Brief
Web3 gaming platform Immutable has rolled out the public testing for its zkEVM.
The Immutable zkEVM is purpose-built for Web3 game development.
Starting today, Web3 game developers can begin migrating their existing smart contracts and Solidity code directly onto Immutable zkEVM Testnet for free.
Immutable, a platform for developing Ethereum games, today began the public testing for its new product – zkEVM.
Developed in collaboration with Polygon Labs, Immutable’s zkEVM offers low-cost, highly scalable enterprise-grade security and Ethereum smart contract compatibility.
The company states that the new solution is tailored to the requirements of Web3 game developers.
Starting today, Web3 game developers can begin migrating their existing smart contracts and Solidity code directly onto Immutable zkEVM Testnet for free. Immutable claims that this will allow developers to have a first-hand experience of the zkEVM functionality.
The company said that AAA Web3 games, backed by a combined funding of over $320 million, have begun constructing their titles on the zkEVM.These include MetalCore, Shardbound, Infinite Victory, CoinArcade, EF Defense, Galaxy Commanders, SimWin Football, Medieval Empires, Eyeball Pool, Meta Toy DragonZ SAGA, Rune Realms, and others.
The company’s new ecosystem aims to enhance the experience of not only developers but also gamers. MetalCore announced that on Sep 15, it will be launching its Closed Beta Kick-off event, providing gamers with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of games built on Immutable’s new solution.
“We’re immensely proud to finally release the Immutable zkEVM Testnet to the public. This chain, combined with our suite of platform products, is the first end-to-end EVM solution dedicated exclusively to making games successful,”
said Alex Connolly, Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder at Immutable, in a statement.
As part of the zkEVM Testnet, builders will have access to access to the entire suite of Immutable tools and solutions, including APIs, SDKs, and solutions such as Passport, Checkout, and Orderbook.
With these tools, the company aims to provide game developers with frictionless onboarding and purchasing experiences for users while maintaining liquidity for their assets.
Smart contracts can now be deployed on the Immutable zkEVM Testnet, where developers can also access a native L2 faucet for Test-IMX, Sepolia deposit and withdrawal bridges, a block explorer, and the upcoming Immutable Relayer for currency abstraction and gas sponsorship.
