What’s Manta?

Founded in 2020, Manta Network is a leader in zero-knowledge (ZK), having carved out a special place for itself with its creative multi-modular environment for ZK applications. Manta Pacific and Manta Atlantic, two exclusive systems, set it apart.

Manta Pacific is a Layer 2 ecosystem designed to run on Ethereum, specifically catering to EVM-native ZK applications.

In contrast, Manta Atlantic is a Layer 1 chain that is renowned for its rapidity and effectiveness. It was created on top of Polkadot. This system leverages zkSBTs to bring the concept of adjustable identities and credentials into the Web3 space.

Who Are the Founders of Manta?

Since October 2020, Victor Ji has been a co-founder of Manta, and he is crucial in directing the company’s product strategy. Victor joined Manta Network after working as a researcher at YC China.

Another Manta Network co-founder is Shumo Chu. Shumo studies formal techniques, large-scale graph analytics, database systems, and confidentiality solutions.

The COO and co-founder of Manta Network, Kenny Li, began his career in the cryptocurrency space by mining Bitcoin in 2013. Since then, he has made contributions to a number of distributed ledger projects.

What Makes Manta Unique?

An aspect that makes Manta Pacific truly unique is its emphasis on programmable zero-knowledge features within an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) environment. This provides a straightforward path for developers to incorporate ZK technology into their projects.

Manta Atlantic employs a special method called zkAddress, which blends individual addresses tied to UTXOs with open account-based domains. Without risking security or disclosing confidential data, this architecture enables secured data such as soulbound token mining, on-chain credentials, and off-chain identities.

How Many Coins Are There in Circulation?

1,000,000,000 MANTA were issued overall in January 2024, with a 2% yearly minting rate. With 251 million tokens set in the first circulating supply, there was more than enough liquidity for trading.

How Is the Manta Network Secured?

Manta’s privacy-focused protocols hinge on zk-SNARKs. Using zk-SNARKs, Manta Network offers a sophisticated and efficient level of privacy. This technology validates transactions without revealing sensitive details, akin to confirming your identity without showing your ID card. The result is a protective layer of privacy, where transactions are secure yet discreet.

Where Can You Buy Manta?

Manta Network is available for purchase on a variety of cryptocurrency exchanges, providing several options for users. You can find it on KuCoin, a platform known for its extensive coin listings and competitive trading fees. If you prefer a larger exchange with a broad user base, Binance is also an option. For those seeking an alternative, consider CoinEx, which offers a user-friendly interface. Bybit is another choice, particularly popular among derivative traders.

What’s next on Manta?

Manta Pacific has developed a modular roadmap in partnership with Celestia and Polygon Labs with the goal of improving the zkEVM space. This trip is divided into four carefully thought-out chapters, each of which adds additional levels of usefulness, integration, and user happiness. The Manta Pacific Mainnet, designed using the Polygon Chain Development Kit (CDK) and Celestia’s Data Availability (DA) architecture, will be fully released in the final section, guaranteeing a powerful, reliable, and scalable environment for both programmers and consumers.
